This full-time special weekend options position is Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 6am-6pm at Arnett Hospital.

Operates CT scanner, prepares and positions patients, and screens patients for safe scanning and safe administration of contrast. Obtains IV access and administers contrast as required, recognizing and responding to adverse contrast events. Possesses knowledge of scan protocols and selects appropriate protocol to address clinical concerns.

Adjusts scan parameters to ensure diagnostic images and collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians. Follows radiation safety protocols and performs routine QC on equipment. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and members of the care team while documenting necessary information in EMR.

Requirements

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when patient condition does not permit routine positioning
  • Active status through ARRT: Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R) or Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM); or NMTCB: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT)
  • Advanced certification in Computed Tomography (CT) through ARRT or NMTCB within 12 months of hire
  • Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • May be required to meet registry/certification requirements for another modality, if applicable

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and position patients for scanning
  • Screen patients for safe scanning and safe administration of contrast
  • Obtain IV access and administer contrast as required
  • Adjust scan parameters to ensure diagnostic images
  • Follow radiation safety protocols
  • Perform routine QC on equipment
  • Assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed
