About this role

Under general supervision of the CT Supervisor, and following established policies and procedures, the CT Technologist operates a CT scanner to obtain images for physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. Provides technical and ancillary support to the department mission through demonstrated clinical and academic competency in CT. This part-time overnight role supports outpatient care at NeighborHealth.

Performs appropriate studies as determined through policy and procedure, following the requisition to match patient condition and history. Prepares patients for exams, ensuring comfort and modesty while accommodating scheduling needs. Sets up equipment and adjusts imaging factors to provide quality images as requested by radiologists.

Completes procedures in a timely fashion, delivering quality images for Radiology and outside departments. Participates in intravenous (IV) training to start and administer IV contrast material under physician observation. Works in the Radiology department at 10 Gove Street – Taylor Building, rotating to all areas as needed.

Demonstrates ability to work unsupervised in the clinical setting with flexibility for departmental workflow. Meets all clinical responsibilities across assigned areas with proper licensure. Advances patient care in a community health center committed to the greater Boston area.

Requirements

  • Completes training and meets all clinical responsibilities to all areas assigned
  • Ability to work unsupervised in the clinical setting
  • Willingness to rotate to all areas as the need arises
  • Holds appropriate licensure and advanced certification as required by the ARRT, ACR, and Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Demonstrated clinical and academic competency in CT
  • Passes all competencies for IV contrast administration under physician observation
  • Follows established policies and procedures for CT operations

Responsibilities

  • Operates a CT scanner to perform technologist duties as required and necessary for proper departmental workflow
  • Performs appropriate studies as determined through policy and procedure and follows requisition in terms of providing proper study for patients
  • Prepares patient for exams as required and always ensures patient comfort and modesty
  • Sets up equipment as necessary and uses proper imaging techniques, adjusting imaging factors when necessary to improve study quality
  • Completes procedures in timely fashion while providing quality images for Radiology and outside departments
  • Participates in intravenous (IV) training and passes all competencies required to start and administer IV contrast material
  • Maintains equipment through interaction with management and department staff
  • Rotates to all areas as the need arises to support department mission
