South Shore Health is adding to its MRI Technologist team with a full-time night shift position at its best-in-class imaging program. Technologists work with cutting-edge technology including a 1.5T scanner and positively impact patients daily. New grads apply now with a $7,500 sign-on bonus offered.

Under supervision of the MRI Manager, Team Leader, and Safety Officer, perform routine and advanced MRI procedures in a strong magnetic field. Monitor and maintain essential patient care and safety throughout scans. Prepare patients, position them, set imaging parameters, process images, and display results.

Operate in a Level II Adult Trauma Center with Level III NICU and the third busiest Emergency Department in the state. Ensure MR safety for patients, visitors, and staff entering the area. Review schedules for protocols and contra-indications, acting as final safety checkpoint.

Handle IV insertions, contrast injections with power injector, and monitor reactions. Coordinate inpatient MRI prep and communicate with radiologists for protocols. Enjoy free parking, shuttle service, and medical, dental, vision insurance starting day 1.

Requirements

  • ARRT certification in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR)
  • Knowledge of MRI safety procedures and strong magnetic field operations
  • Ability to insert IV catheters and administer MR contrast agents
  • Understanding of contra-indications and adverse reactions to MR contrast
  • Proficiency with 1.5T MRI scanners and related equipment
  • BLS certification
  • Experience reviewing protocols and coordinating patient safety screening

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patient, position, set imaging parameters, perform computer processing, and display images
  • Perform scheduled quality control procedures on MRI scanners and record QA results
  • Insert IV catheters as needed
  • Prepare for and perform intravenous injection of MR contrast agents using power injector and monitor for reactions
  • Instruct patients and visitors in MR safety procedures
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices by all persons entering the MRI area
  • Review outpatient and inpatient schedules to confirm exams protocoled and reviewed for contra-indications
  • Act as final checkpoint for patient safety and protocol clarification
