About this role

A registered technologist responsible for performing, processing, and evaluating MRI scans to ensure high-quality diagnostic images. This role supports radiologists and physicians in accurately diagnosing disease and injury. Prioritizing patient safety, comfort, and care is essential.

Operate MRI equipment while adhering to imaging protocols and maintaining compliance with safety standards. Position and care for patients during scans, using specialized radiology equipment. Process images to deliver clear diagnostic results for clinical review.

Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to achieve exceptional patient outcomes. Work in a university health care setting with exposure to human blood, serum, body fluids, and TB risk. Wear a respirator and follow Universal Precautions.

Lift and position patients and view VDT screens more than 75% of the time, requiring significant physical effort. Join Michigan State University healthcare team from 1:00pm - 9:30pm Monday - Friday. Contribute to high standards in medical imaging.

Requirements

  • Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
  • Additional certification(s) in MRI as required by law or industry standards
  • ARRT (MR) certification required
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Knowledge from first two or three years in approved Radiologic Technologist program
  • One to three years of related work experience in radiology equipment and patient care
  • Ability to use specialized MRI equipment
  • 2 years MRI experience preferred
