About this role

This is a temporary or on-call position providing technical support in radiology. Responsibilities include medical patient care, technical equipment operation, and other support functions. The role focuses on MRI services at Michigan State University in East Lansing.

MRI Technologist duties include performing MRI examinations on patients. Work with clerical staff to ensure exams are correctly ordered and meet appropriate criteria. Handle additional technical tasks as needed in the imaging department.

Collaborate with Nuclear isotopes for required compliance testing. Partner with Radiologists to log proper information for image reading. Operate within a health care setting adhering to safety protocols.

Support university health care environment with exposure to bodily fluids and TB risks. Follow Universal Precautions, respirator use, and Covid measures. Additional duties assigned to maintain operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • ARRT Registration in MRI
  • Current BLS Certification
  • Working experience as an MRI Technologist
  • Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and procedures
  • Familiarity with patient positioning and scan protocols
  • Ability to handle Nuclear isotopes for compliance testing
  • Understanding of radiology logging and Radiologist collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Perform MRI examinations
  • Work with clerical staff to ensure exams are correctly ordered and meet appropriate criteria
  • Work with Nuclear isotopes and perform required testing for compliance
  • Work with Radiologist to ensure proper information in log for reading
  • Provide technical support including patient care and equipment operation
  • Screen patients for MRI safety and contraindications
  • Position patients and administer contrast agents as needed
  • Maintain MRI equipment and ensure image quality
