Requirements

  • 0 – 2 years of experience, preferred
  • Associate's degree in radiologic technology
  • Bachelor's degree in radiologic technology, preferred
  • Certified by the American Registry of radiologic technologists (ARRT) in computed tomography (CT)
  • Licensed with Wyoming Board of Radiologic Examiners
  • Phlebotomy experience, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Use computerized tomography equipment to capture diagnostic images of patients’ internal organs and tissues
  • Appropriately position patients to scan specific areas of their bodies
  • Perform regular warm-up sequences on the CT scanner to prolong the life of the X-ray tubes
  • Sterilize radiologic equipment to ensure the safety of patients
  • Correctly interpret doctors' written scanning instructions
  • Administer radiocontrast agents to patients to enhance the visibility of internal organs and tissues
  • Evaluate CT scans to determine whether they are of good technical quality
  • Explain scanning procedures to patients and provide reassurance and support as required
