Join a great breast imaging team at the Piper Breast Center, a comprehensive breast imaging facility. Perform breast ultrasounds and assist the radiologist with interventional procedures. Provide a comfortable and supportive environment for patients.

Perform abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, vascular imaging and provide sonography guidance for interventional procedures. Follow department policies and American College of Radiology (ACR) standards. Use independent judgment and thorough understanding of equipment and positioning for optimum service.

Work in a casual position with 8/12 combo day/evening/night shifts. Enjoy no weekend rotation, with holiday and call per department protocol. This is a union represented position.

Complete procedures in compliance with physician orders, identifying patients with two identifiers and documenting accurately. Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic equipment and verify images transfer to storage systems. Communicate with supervisor and team to report issues and support others.

Requirements

Associate's or Vocational degree from an accredited School of Diagnostic Ultrasound
Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology and 2 year School of Diagnostic Ultrasound
Vocational or Technical Training graduate of accredited School of Radiologic Technology and ARDMS registered or registry eligible
American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required upon hire in Abdomen (AB), Breast (BR), Fetal Echocardiography (FE), OB/GYN, or Pediatric Sonography (PS)
Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) required for AHG Clinic Locations, St. Francis Regional Medical Center upon hire, or all hospital locations within 6 months
Piper Breast Center locations require Breast (BR) registration upon hire or within one year
Current BLS certification from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Allina in-house training within 30 days

Responsibilities

Perform breast ultrasounds and assist the radiologist with interventional procedures
Perform abdominal, small parts, OB/GYN, vascular imaging
Provide sonography guidance for interventional procedures
Identify patient with two identifiers and document accurately all needed aspects of the procedure
Observe and communicate with patient, responding to needs and maintaining safe environment
Demonstrate appropriate knowledge of all diagnostic equipment and maintain work knowledge and competence
Gather relevant information to assist in interpretation of images and verify images transferred to imaging storage
Use Excellian electronic medical record and ensure all documentation is complete post procedure
