About this role
As an MRI Technologist-Lead, your ability to empathize with patients, specialized technical skills, and dedication to quality greatly enhances the overall success of MRI imaging for diagnostic use in patient care. This advanced position includes additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the modality supervisor or department manager. You perform technical skills in operating a Magnetic Resonance Scanner to produce high-quality cross-sectional images.
Day-to-day involves performing routine and advanced MRI procedures in a strong magnetic field while monitoring patient care and safety. You educate patients on procedures, verify identification and orders, and administer IV contrast media after competency assessment. Maintain proper documentation in the Radiant Care Connect EMR and follow radiologist orders for imaging and contrast.
You provide on-call coverage for the MRI section, collaborate with all modalities for mutual patient flow, and perform transport duties as needed. Monitor patient status and notify nurse or physician of changes. Clean, restock, and prepare rooms daily while providing excellent customer service.
In this lead role, maintain accountability for timely service during unsupervised shifts and appropriately maintain all MRI equipment and accessories. Trained in PACS software, you transfer imaging data for archiving and post-processing. Receive verbal orders and document in EMR, ensuring high standards in radiology.
Requirements
- NYS license in Radiologic Technology
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT-R)
- NYS Injection Certification
- BLS Certification
- Two-year college degree or equivalent (preferred)
- Three years of MRI Technologist and/or Radiologic experience (preferred)
- IV Certification (preferred)
Responsibilities
