About this role

The Department of Interventional Radiology seeks an experienced Interventional Radiologist for an academic faculty position to lead Interventional Oncology services as Director of Interventional Oncology. The candidate should have broad experience in clinical interventional oncology, multidisciplinary tumor boards, and cancer therapeutics. The successful candidate will have a track record in programmatic leadership, growing clinical practice, initiating clinical trials, and an active research program.

Additional responsibilities include supporting the overall Body IR practice with inpatient services, trauma, peripheral arterial disease, PE interventions, and portal hypertension/TIPS. Clinical duties cover the university service, including Doernbecher Children’s Hospital and Portland VA Health Care System. After hours call is commensurate with OHSU Body IR section faculty.

The department operates a full-service inpatient consultation service and outpatient clinic for new consultations and follow-up. The Dotter Department serves as a beacon of internationally recognized research and advanced clinical care. It provides diagnostic angiographic, interventional radiologic, and neurointerventional services to OHSU and VA Hospitals.

The appointee provides services for teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service. OHSU is Oregon's only public academic health center leading groundbreaking research and training health care professionals. It offers opportunities to learn and advance across hospitals and clinics in Oregon and Southwest Washington.

Requirements

  • MD degree (or equivalent)
  • Oregon medical license
  • Completion of ACGME-accredited training in interventional radiology
  • Broad experience in clinical interventional oncology and up to date with clinical data
  • Experience in multidisciplinary tumor boards and cancer therapeutics
  • Track record in programmatic leadership, growing clinical practice, and initiating clinical trials
  • Active clinical and/or translational research program
  • Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines

Responsibilities

  • Lead Interventional Oncology services as Director
  • Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards
  • Support Body IR practice including inpatient services, trauma, peripheral arterial disease, PE interventions, and portal hypertension/TIPS
  • Provide clinical care for university service, Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and Portland VA Health Care System
  • Cover after hours call responsibilities commensurate with faculty
  • Operate inpatient consultation service and outpatient clinic
  • Initiate clinical trials and maintain active clinical or translational research program
  • Engage in teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service
