About this role

The MRI Technologist is a staff level position producing quality diagnostic MRI scans on patients of all ages using the MRI scanner and associated equipment for imaging and image manipulation. Tasks are performed with minimal supervision and strict adherence to quality parameters determined by the department. Technologists independently perform or assist the licensed independent practitioner in radiographic procedures.

Prepare, administer, and document activities related to contrast media and medications in accordance with state and federal regulations or institutional policy. Educate patients and their parents regarding procedures performed and safety within the MRI department. PRN position covers South & Main Campus with no holiday requirement.

Recognize and advocate for each patient as an individual with unique healthcare needs, providing considerate, respectful care. Work with other departments to provide a smooth continuum of care for individual patients. Responsible for performance of the organization’s systems and processes.

Maintain CPR certification and ARRT registration in addition to participation in hospital-wide mandatory education. Participate in on-call rotation. Work with student technologists to assure a positive learning experience during clinical rotations.

Requirements

  • HSD/GED
  • Associate’s Degree in Radiologic Technology/Sciences or Medical Imaging related discipline
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography
  • ARRT registry in Magnetic Resonance (preferred)
  • Radiologic License - Ohio Department of Health (preferred)
  • Registry with CNMT or ARDMS may be substituted for ARRT registry in Radiography if ARRT registered in Magnetic Resonance
  • CPR certification
