The MRI Technologist I performs routine magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to support diagnostic and treatment services. Daily responsibilities include operating MRI and processing equipment proficiently while adhering to safety guidelines. Technologists review patient questionnaires and histories to identify contraindications like implants or foreign bodies. They verify physician orders and patient identification prior to procedures for accuracy.

Collaboration occurs with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare team members to optimize imaging results and patient outcomes. MRI safety zones are maintained, and staff readiness is verified before entering scan areas. Equipment functionality is monitored, with issues reported promptly.

Patient care emphasizes education, preparation, and support during and after exams to alleviate concerns and promote satisfaction. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or MRI program
  • 0-2 years of clinical experience as a registered MRI Technologist
  • Knowledge of MRI principles, safety standards, and imaging techniques
  • Proficient in operating MRI equipment and associated software
  • Ability to review patient histories for contraindications like implants
  • Skill in maintaining MRI safety zones and verifying readiness
  • Competence in documenting clinical history with exam findings

Responsibilities
