About this role

Under the leadership of the department director and assistant director, the Cardiovascular Radiological Technologist (CRT) delivers quality patient care to all patient populations in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory. The CRT possesses skills to competently provide diagnostic and interventional cardiac angiograms with proper documentation of radiology record requirements and radiation safety. Maximizes the use of equipment and resources.

The CRT performs all cardiac-radiographic procedures in the area of assignment and is accountable for all radiation-related procedures in the department. Interacts in a positive, service-oriented manner with patients, medical staff, and peers. Ensures radiation safety protocols are followed during procedures.

This role involves working under pressure in a fast-paced cardiac cath lab environment. Requires critical thinking, sharp assessment skills, quick decision-making, and effective communication. On-call duties rotate among team members to support 24/7 operations.

After orientation, CRTs gain independent assignment of telemetry-monitored patients upon passing the Arrhythmia Interpretation/Telemetry test at 85%. Annual testing maintains proficiency. Contributes to a collaborative team focused on high-quality cardiac imaging and interventions.

Requirements

  • Acute Cardiac Cath Lab experience within the past three years
  • Current licensure with the State of California in Fluoroscopy and Diagnostic Radiography
  • Current with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or ASRT continuing education for California licensing
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider ACLS Certification prior to independent assignment
  • Pass Arrhythmia Interpretation/Telemetry test at 85% prior to independent assignment (tested annually)
  • Ability to be on-call on a rotating basis
  • Critical thinking, sharp assessment skills, quick decision-making ability, and work under pressure

Benefits

  • Hourly pay range: $62.86 to $84.09 based on years of applicable experience
  • Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $3.85
  • Hourly Night Shift Differential: $5.77
